Abstract: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a widely used diagnostic procedure&#xD;
that, while safe and effective, often induces anxiety in patients due to its&#xD;
enclosed environment, loud noises, and unfamiliarity. This study was&#xD;
undertaken to assess the anxiety levels of patients undergoing MRI at&#xD;
selected hospitals in Bengaluru, with the aim of developing an information&#xD;
booklet to support anxiety reduction. A descriptive non-experimental design&#xD;
was adopted, and 50 patients were selected through convenience sampling.&#xD;
Data were collected using a structured interview schedule and an anxiety&#xD;
rating scale. Results revealed that the majority of patients (58%) experienced&#xD;
moderate anxiety, followed by 30% with mild anxiety, and 12% with severe&#xD;
anxiety. The overall mean anxiety score was 31.46 (41.94%), indicating a&#xD;
moderate level of anxiety among participants. Statistical analysis showed&#xD;
that previous experience with MRI and the source of information about the&#xD;
procedure were significantly associated with anxiety levels, while&#xD;
demographic factors such as age, gender, education, and occupation had no&#xD;
&#xD;
significant association. The findings emphasize the importance of pre-&#xD;
procedure education, reassurance, and coping strategies to help patients&#xD;
&#xD;
manage anxiety. Based on the results, an information booklet was developed&#xD;
to enhance patient preparedness and cooperation during MRI procedures.&#xD;
The study concludes that structured education and supportive nursing&#xD;
interventions play a crucial role in alleviating MRI-related anxiety, ultimately&#xD;
improving diagnostic outcomes and patient well-being.</summary>

Abstract: Introduction. A research study was conducted to evaluate the utilization of&#xD;
electronic devices and their impact on the health and wellness of&#xD;
schoolchildren, with the objective of developing an educational brochure for&#xD;
students. Methodology. The study was carried out at a selected school in&#xD;
Bengaluru using a descriptive research design. A total of 60 students from&#xD;
grades 8 and 9 were selected through a convenient sampling technique. Data&#xD;
was collected using a self-structured questionnaire focusing on patterns of&#xD;
electronic device usage and related health effects. Results. The results&#xD;
indicated that the majority of students (95%) had a moderate level of&#xD;
knowledge, while only 3.3% showed adequate knowledge and 1.7% had poor&#xD;
awareness. The mean knowledge score was 56.66%, and statistical analysis&#xD;
revealed a significant association between students' knowledge and&#xD;
demographic variables (p&lt;0.05). Conclusion. The study concludes that&#xD;
awareness among schoolchildren is limited, and recommends the&#xD;
implementation of structured educational programs and the distribution of&#xD;
informative brochures in schools.</summary>

Abstract: Migraine is a common neurological disorder that affects a large proportion&#xD;
of the adult population worldwide and hassignificant implicationsfor quality&#xD;
of life and academic performance, especially among students in healthcare&#xD;
professions. The present descriptive study was conducted to assess the level&#xD;
of knowledge regarding migraine among undergraduate nursing students at&#xD;
Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing, Bengaluru. A quantitative research&#xD;
approach with a descriptive research design was adopted. A total of 90&#xD;
undergraduate nursing students were selected using a purposive sampling&#xD;
technique. Data was collected using a self-structured questionnaire to assess&#xD;
baseline variables and knowledge regarding migraine. Descriptive and&#xD;
inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The results revealed that&#xD;
5.6% of students had poor knowledge, 62.2% had average knowledge, and&#xD;
32.2% had excellent knowledge regarding migraine. A significant association&#xD;
was found between knowledge levels and selected variables such as gender,&#xD;
mother’s education, and participation in migraine-related classes, whereas&#xD;
no significant association was observed with other variables including area&#xD;
of residence, type of family, father’s education, presence of healthcare&#xD;
workers in the family, family history of migraine, diagnostic history of&#xD;
migraine, exposure to information sources, and experience caring for&#xD;
migraine patients. The findings indicate that while most students have&#xD;
moderate knowledge, targeted educational programs could enhance&#xD;
understanding of migraine and its management among nursing students.</summary>

Abstract: Homesickness is a common psychological challenge among students&#xD;
&#xD;
transitioning to hostel life, with potential consequences on emotional well-&#xD;
being and academic engagement. First-year General Nursing and Midwifery&#xD;
&#xD;
(GNM) students are particularly vulnerable due to simultaneous adjustment&#xD;
to academic and clinical demands. This descriptive cross-sectional study&#xD;
assessed the prevalence, contributing factors, and coping strategies of&#xD;
homesickness among first-year GNM students in selected nursing colleges of&#xD;
Bangalore. Findings revealed that 55% of respondents were aged 18–25,&#xD;
with 58.3% reporting frequent loneliness, 50% missing family and friends,&#xD;
58.4% experiencing difficulty adjusting to the new environment, and 40%&#xD;
feeling disconnected from family support. Coping strategies included regular&#xD;
communication with family and friends (96.7%) and seeking counseling&#xD;
support (61.7%), while fewer relied on social events (30%) or hobbies (15%).&#xD;
Academic impact was reflected in 68.3% experiencing poor concentration,&#xD;
65% feeling overwhelmed, and 56.7% missing classes. The study highlights&#xD;
the need for institutional counseling and peer-support initiatives.</summary>
