among children of unemployed mothers.
3. To identify behavioural problems associated with screen time
among children of employed mothers.
4. To identify behavioural problems associated with screen time
among children of unemployed mothers.
5. To compare the behavioural problems related to screen time
between the two groups (employed vs unemployed mothers).

Authors: K.M., Geeta; Farhan, Muhammed; Mufassir; Aslam, Muhammed; Das, Merin Sarah
Abstract: Introduction:
Organ donation is one of the greatest humanitarian acts that provides hope and a new lease of life to patients
suffering from end-stage organ failure. Despite significant medical advancements and awareness campaigns,
the rate of organ donation remains low due to lack of knowledge, fear, myths, and cultural or religious
misconceptions. This research was undertaken to assess the knowledge, attitude, and awareness regarding
organ donation among individuals and to determine the need for effective educational interventions.
Objectives:
The objectives of the were to assess " An exploratory study to evaluate the knowledge regarding organ
donation among fourth year B.Sc. Nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing Bangalore
“and to determine the association between their awareness scores and selected demographic variables such
as age, education, health status, gender, family income, place of residence and occupation.
Methods:
A descriptive research design was used for the study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire
from selected participants, focusing on their understanding of organ donation, willingness to donate, and
perceived barriers. The findings revealed that while most respondents expressed a positive attitude toward
organ donation, their level of knowledge about the process, eligibility, legal aspects, and registration
procedures was limited. Misconceptions and lack of motivation were identified as major factors hindering
donation willingness.
Result:
The study highlights the crucial role of nurses and other healthcare professionals in educating the public about
the importance of organ donation, clarifying doubts, and encouraging voluntary registration. It also
emphasizes the need for continuous awareness programs through schools, communities, and media to
promote organ donation as a social responsibility and a moral duty.
Conclusion:
The research indicates that improved awareness and positive reinforcement through health education can
significantly increase the rate of organ donation, thereby saving numerous lives.

Title: A Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Health Promoting First Aid Services among First Year GNM Students
Authors: Malagi, Vasantha; Glory, R Stephy; Abdul Majeed, Tameem; M, Srikruthi
Abstract: PROBLEMSTATEMENT:
“A study to assess the knowledge regarding health promoting first aid services among first year GNM
student”

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
• To assess the knowledge of first-year GNM students regarding health-promoting first aid services.
• To classify the knowledge levels of first-year GNM students on health-promoting first aid services
into Adequate, moderate, and inadequate categories.
METHODOLOGY:
A Cross Sectional research design was used to assess the level of knowledge regarding health- promoting
first aid services among first-year GNM students. Data was collected from 50 participants selected through
non-probability convenience sampling technique using a structured questionnaire consisting of two
sections.
RESULT:
The study was conducted among 50 first-year GNM students to assess their knowledge regarding health promoting first aid services. The findings revealed that the majority of the participants (56%) had
adequate knowledge, while 34% demonstrated moderate knowledge, and only 10% had inadequate
knowledge.
This show that while more than half of the participants had adequate knowledge, a significant portion still had only
moderate or inadequate understanding of first aid practices. These findings emphasize the need to enhance the current
first aid curriculum and provide more practical exposure. The mean knowledge score was 18, Median knowledge
score was 19, with a standard deviation of 5.03. The minimum score was 5, and the maximum score was 25,
indicating wide variation in student knowledge levels
This indicates that more than half of the students have a satisfactory understanding of first aid measures.
However, a considerable proportion of students still fall under moderate and adequate categories, suggesting
a need for enforcing first aid training and awareness during the early stages of nursing education.

A Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Prevention and Management of Diabetic Foot among 4 Students in Selected College

Title: A Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Prevention and Management of Diabetic Foot among 4 Students in Selected College
Authors: Mohanlal, Syam; Sunil, Dany; George, Jibin; Joemol
Abstract: Diabetic foot is a prevalent and severe complication of diabetes mellitus, often
leading to infections, ulcers, and lower limb amputations. Proper education and
knowledge among healthcare providers, particularly nursing students, play a critical
role in preventing and managing diabetic foot complications. This descriptive study
aimed to assess the level of knowledge regarding prevention and management of
diabetic foot among 4
th year B.Sc. Nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College
of Nursing, Bengaluru. The study also examined associations between knowledge
levels and selected socio-demographic variables. A quantitative research approach with a descriptive research design was employed. A
total of 60 4
th year B.Sc. Nursing students were selected using a convenient sampling
technique. Data was collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire, which included both demographic details and 30 knowledge-based questions. The
findings revealed that 58.33% of students had average knowledge, 35% had poor
knowledge, and only 6.67% demonstrated good knowledge. The overall mean score
was 12.01 out of 30 (40.03%), indicating a moderate understanding of diabetic foot
care. Chi-square analysis showed a statistically significant association between religion and
knowledge level, while other demographic variables such as age, locality, family type, and prior sources of information showed no significant relationship. The results
highlight the necessity of strengthening the curriculum and clinical exposure to
improve nursing students' awareness and competence in diabetic foot management. Recommendations include curriculum enhancement, hands-on clinical training, and
the integration of case-based learning methods to address existing knowledge gaps.
