Abstract: Introduction: The use of restraints in psychiatric care is a critical but ethically sensitive &#xD;
practice aimed at preventing harm during episodes of aggression, agitation, or risk of self injury. Although restraints may be necessary in emergencies, their improper or uninformed use &#xD;
can cause physical harm, psychological trauma, and violation of patient rights. Nurses, as &#xD;
frontline caregivers, must possess adequate knowledge and ethical understanding to ensure safe &#xD;
and compassionate application of restraints.&#xD;
Objectives: The study was conducted to assess the level of knowledge among 4th year B.Sc. &#xD;
Nursing students regarding the application of restraints to psychiatric patients and to identify &#xD;
factors associated with knowledge levels. The research also aimed to highlight gaps in training&#xD;
and provide evidence for improving psychiatric nursing education.&#xD;
Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional design was adopted, and data were collected from 70 &#xD;
fourth-year B.Sc. Nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing, Bengaluru. A &#xD;
structured self-administered questionnaire containing 30 knowledge-based items was used. &#xD;
Responses were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics to evaluate knowledge &#xD;
levels and associations with demographic factors.&#xD;
Results: Findings revealed that 47.1% of students had adequate knowledge, 35.7% had &#xD;
moderate knowledge, and 17.1% demonstrated inadequate knowledge of restraint application. &#xD;
The mean knowledge score was 17.36 (SD = 6.78), with scores ranging between 4 and 27. &#xD;
Socioeconomic status was significantly associated with knowledge levels (p = 0.025), whereas &#xD;
no significant association was found with gender, age, marital status, family income, or &#xD;
residential status.&#xD;
Conclusion: The study concludes that while most students demonstrated moderate to &#xD;
adequate knowledge of restraint application, gaps remain that could impact clinical practice. &#xD;
Strengthening the nursing curriculum with simulation-based training, ethical and legal &#xD;
frameworks, and de-escalation strategies is essential to prepare students for safe, patient centered psychiatric care.&#xD;

Authors: K.M., Geeta; Farhan, Muhammed; Mufassir; Aslam, Muhammed; Das, Merin Sarah
Abstract: Introduction:&#xD;
Organ donation is one of the greatest humanitarian acts that provides hope and a new lease of life to patients &#xD;
suffering from end-stage organ failure. Despite significant medical advancements and awareness campaigns, &#xD;
the rate of organ donation remains low due to lack of knowledge, fear, myths, and cultural or religious &#xD;
misconceptions. This research was undertaken to assess the knowledge, attitude, and awareness regarding &#xD;
organ donation among individuals and to determine the need for effective educational interventions.&#xD;
Objectives:&#xD;
The objectives of the were to assess " An exploratory study to evaluate the knowledge regarding organ &#xD;
donation among fourth year B.Sc. Nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing Bangalore&#xD;
“and to determine the association between their awareness scores and selected demographic variables such &#xD;
as age, education, health status, gender, family income, place of residence and occupation.&#xD;
Methods:&#xD;
A descriptive research design was used for the study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire &#xD;
from selected participants, focusing on their understanding of organ donation, willingness to donate, and &#xD;
perceived barriers. The findings revealed that while most respondents expressed a positive attitude toward &#xD;
organ donation, their level of knowledge about the process, eligibility, legal aspects, and registration &#xD;
procedures was limited. Misconceptions and lack of motivation were identified as major factors hindering &#xD;
donation willingness.&#xD;
Result:&#xD;
The study highlights the crucial role of nurses and other healthcare professionals in educating the public about &#xD;
the importance of organ donation, clarifying doubts, and encouraging voluntary registration. It also &#xD;
emphasizes the need for continuous awareness programs through schools, communities, and media to &#xD;
promote organ donation as a social responsibility and a moral duty.&#xD;
Conclusion:&#xD;
The research indicates that improved awareness and positive reinforcement through health education can &#xD;
significantly increase the rate of organ donation, thereby saving numerous lives.&#xD;

      <title>A Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Health Promoting First Aid Services among First Year GNM Students</title>
      <link>http://13.232.72.61:8080/jspui/handle/123456789/10112</link>
      <description>Title: A Study to Assess the Knowledge Regarding Health Promoting First Aid Services among First Year GNM Students
Authors: Malagi, Vasantha; Glory, R Stephy; Abdul Majeed, Tameem; M, Srikruthi
Abstract: PROBLEMSTATEMENT:&#xD;
“A study to assess the knowledge regarding health promoting first aid services among first year GNM &#xD;
student”&#xD;
 &#xD;
 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY&#xD;
• To assess the knowledge of first-year GNM students regarding health-promoting first aid services.&#xD;
• To classify the knowledge levels of first-year GNM students on health-promoting first aid services&#xD;
into Adequate, moderate, and inadequate categories.&#xD;
METHODOLOGY:&#xD;
A Cross Sectional research design was used to assess the level of knowledge regarding health- promoting &#xD;
first aid services among first-year GNM students. Data was collected from 50 participants selected through &#xD;
non-probability convenience sampling technique using a structured questionnaire consisting of two &#xD;
sections.&#xD;
RESULT:&#xD;
The study was conducted among 50 first-year GNM students to assess their knowledge regarding health promoting first aid services. The findings revealed that the majority of the participants (56%) had &#xD;
adequate knowledge, while 34% demonstrated moderate knowledge, and only 10% had inadequate&#xD;
knowledge.&#xD;
This show that while more than half of the participants had adequate knowledge, a significant portion still had only &#xD;
moderate or inadequate understanding of first aid practices. These findings emphasize the need to enhance the current &#xD;
first aid curriculum and provide more practical exposure. The mean knowledge score was 18, Median knowledge &#xD;
score was 19, with a standard deviation of 5.03. The minimum score was 5, and the maximum score was 25, &#xD;
indicating wide variation in student knowledge levels&#xD;
This indicates that more than half of the students have a satisfactory understanding of first aid measures. &#xD;
However, a considerable proportion of students still fall under moderate and adequate categories, suggesting &#xD;
a need for enforcing first aid training and awareness during the early stages of nursing education.</description>
