Authors: K.M., Geeta; Farhan, Muhammed; Mufassir; Aslam, Muhammed; Das, Merin Sarah
Abstract: Introduction:
Organ donation is one of the greatest humanitarian acts that provides hope and a new lease of life to patients
suffering from end-stage organ failure. Despite significant medical advancements and awareness campaigns,
the rate of organ donation remains low due to lack of knowledge, fear, myths, and cultural or religious
misconceptions. This research was undertaken to assess the knowledge, attitude, and awareness regarding
organ donation among individuals and to determine the need for effective educational interventions.
Objectives:
The objectives of the were to assess " An exploratory study to evaluate the knowledge regarding organ
donation among fourth year B.Sc. Nursing students at Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing Bangalore
“and to determine the association between their awareness scores and selected demographic variables such
as age, education, health status, gender, family income, place of residence and occupation.
Methods:
A descriptive research design was used for the study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire
from selected participants, focusing on their understanding of organ donation, willingness to donate, and
perceived barriers. The findings revealed that while most respondents expressed a positive attitude toward
organ donation, their level of knowledge about the process, eligibility, legal aspects, and registration
procedures was limited. Misconceptions and lack of motivation were identified as major factors hindering
donation willingness.
Result:
The study highlights the crucial role of nurses and other healthcare professionals in educating the public about
the importance of organ donation, clarifying doubts, and encouraging voluntary registration. It also
emphasizes the need for continuous awareness programs through schools, communities, and media to
promote organ donation as a social responsibility and a moral duty.
Conclusion:
The research indicates that improved awareness and positive reinforcement through health education can
significantly increase the rate of organ donation, thereby saving numerous lives.

Authors: Bano, Shahida; Johnson, Abhijith; A., Abhiram; Abunajumu
Abstract: Infection control addresses factors related to the spread of infections within the healthcare setting, whether
among patients, from patients to staff, from staff to patients, or among staff. This includes preventive measures
such as hand washing, cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and vaccinating. Infection control is the discipline
concerned with preventing nosocomial or health care associated infection, a practical sub discipline of
epidemiology infection, it is a vital through often non-supported and not recognized as a part of health care.
Hospital acquired infection (HAI) is a major global safety concerned for both patient as well as health care
professionals. Many factors stimulate infection among hospitalized patient- „decreased resistance among
patient‟. „Increasing variation of medical procedure and invasive techniques crafting potential roots of
infection‟ and the transmission of drug -resistant bacteria is packed among hospital population where poor
practice in infection control may facilitate transmission.

Comparative Study to Identify the Effectiveness Between Flipped Classroom Teaching and Traditional Method Among First Year GNM Students in Selected College

Title: Comparative Study to Identify the Effectiveness Between Flipped Classroom Teaching and Traditional Method Among First Year GNM Students in Selected College
Authors: Alex, Aleesha; Thomas, Aleena; George, Aleena; Krishna, Akhila
Abstract: Teaching plays a huge role in how well students understand and retain what they’re learning—especially
in nursing, where both knowledge and hands-on skills are essential. For years, the traditional way of
teaching, mostly through lectures and note-taking, has been the standard. While this method has its place,
it often leads to passive learning, where students simply listen and memorize instead of truly understanding
or applying what they've learned.
In today’s world, education is changing. New methods are being explored to make learning more engaging
and effective. One of these is the flipped classroom approach. In this method, students go through learning
materials—like videos or readings—on their own before coming to sessions. Then, instead of listening to
long explanations, their time together is used to discuss, ask questions, solve problems, or work on
activities that deepen their understanding. This active way of learning helps students take more
responsibility for their education and often improves their ability to think critically.
For students in nursing, who are preparing to care for real people in real-life situations, this shift in
teaching style could be especially helpful. In their early stages of training, many nursing students struggle
with complex topics or connecting theory to practical care. The flipped approach might offer a way to
make learning more personal, flexible, and meaningful.
Even though this method is being used more in different fields, there hasn’t been much research—
especially in the nursing field—on whether it actually works better than traditional teaching. That’s why
this study was planned: to look at both methods side by side and see which one truly helps nursing students
learn better.

An Exploratory Study to Evaluate the Knowledge and Awareness Regarding Health Hazards Associated With the Softdrink Consumption Among Bsc Nursing Students at Smt.Nagaranthnamma College of Nursing

Title: An Exploratory Study to Evaluate the Knowledge and Awareness Regarding Health Hazards Associated With the Softdrink Consumption Among Bsc Nursing Students at Smt.Nagaranthnamma College of Nursing
Authors: Shamil, Mohammed; Afnas, Mohammed; Michael, Melwin
Abstract: 1. To evaluate the knowledge and awareness regarding health hazards associated with
soft drink consumption among BSC NURSING students at Smt. Nagarathnamma
College of Nursing, BENGALURU.
2. To assess the level of knowledge about the contents and nutritional value of soft
drinks.
3. To evaluate students’ awareness regarding the short-term and long-term health effects
of regular soft drink consumption. The present study provided valuable insights into the role of structured educational
interventions in improving nursing students’ knowledge regarding the health hazards
associated with soft drink consumption. The primary aim was to assess baseline knowledge,
evaluate the effectiveness of an awareness program, and determine the association between
pre-test knowledge and selected demographic variables. The findings highlighted a
considerable knowledge gap among students in the pre-test, indicating that many were not
adequately aware of the adverse health consequences linked to frequent soft drink intake.
The awareness session introduced in this study was specifically designed to provide students
with accurate and comprehensive information about the harmful effects of soft drinks,
including obesity, diabetes, dental decay, and cardiovascular problems. The results showed a
significant increase in knowledge scores after the intervention, confirming the effectiveness of
the educational program in achieving its objectives. No significant association was found
between knowledge levels and demographic variables, suggesting that lack of awareness was
consistent across all groups. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating structured
educational programs on nutrition and lifestyle into nursing education to fill knowledge gaps,
promote healthy habits, and prevent diet-related diseases among young adults. The results
further highlight the potential of such interventions to support public health initiatives by
equipping future nurses with the knowledge and motivation to advocate for healthier choices
within their communities.
