This thesis explores the enhancement of the existing Leigh Bazaar in Salem into a more organized and efficient Agro Products Community Center and Market. Salem, a major agro-producing district, currently experiences dispersed trade, inadequate storage, poor circulation, and limited sanitation, leading to inefficiencies for traders, farmers, and consumers. Leigh Bazaar primarily trades grains, lentils, and pulses, while other agro-products such as vegetables, cotton, and perishables are sold outside the premises, creating challenges for local vendors. Limited store availability further restricts opportunities for new and emerging traders. This project proposes additional infrastructure and facilities—such as storage, improved logistics, circulation, and hygiene systems—within and around Leigh Bazaar to consolidate all agro-products, strengthen supply chains, reduce wastage, and enhance user experience. The research develops a framework for sustainable market upgrades grounded in community needs, functional zoning, and operational efficiency, providing a model for future urban agro-markets in India.en_US
