This thesis proposes a Sangam Community Hub for Sri Lankan Tamil refugees in Rameshwaram, designed as a holistic environment that supports cultural identity, social cohesion, and long-term well-being. Set within a region highly vulnerable to seasonal flooding, the project integrates flood-resilient architectural strategies to ensure safety, continuity of community life, and protection of essential amenities. The design framework combines elevated structures, amphibious or adaptable building systems, permeable landscapes, and strategically planned courtyards to manage water flow while maintaining functional public spaces throughout the year. Rooted in the ethos of Sangam—a place of gathering, learning, and cultural exchange—the hub accommodates communal activities, skill development, healthcare, and recreation, fostering empowerment and dignity for displaced Sri Lankan Tamilians. By uniting socio-cultural needs with climate-responsive design, the project demonstrates how resilient architecture can create secure, inclusive, and future-ready habitats for vulnerable coastal communities.en_US
