Abstract

"Thapovan," is to design a model for senior living that is supportive, non-institutional, and deeply connected to nature and community. 1. Dignity & Independence: Using Universal Design to create accessible, adaptable, zero-barrier homes that maximize personal autonomy and safety. 2. Community & Culture: Designing varied social spaces to actively combat isolation and foster a sense of 'home' and belonging (relevant to the Indian context). 3. Biophilic Integration: Leveraging the Reichenhall Lake site to create a restorative, nature-centric environment while using architecture to buffer against urban chaos.
