Abstract

Cardivida - Cardiac Hospital and Wellness Centre is envisioned as a healing environment where advanced cardiac care is integrated with nature-driven design to promote holistic well-being. The project explores how biophilic architecture can significantly reduce patient stress, accelerate recovery, and improve overall user experience within a high-intensity healthcare setting. By incorporating natural light, ventilation, therapeutic landscape zones, green courtyards, water features, and material palettes inspired by nature, the design aims to create a calm, restorative atmosphere for patients, caregivers, and staff. Environmental sensitivity is embedded throughout the project, employing passive design strategies, rainwater harvesting, renewable energy systems, and sustainable material selection to reduce the building’s ecological footprint. The spatial planning blends clinical efficiency with wellness philosophy—integrating cardiac treatment facilities, rehabilitation suites, meditation gardens, physiotherapy zones, and nature-immersed recovery pathways. The thesis demonstrates how a cardiac hospital can transcend its clinical identity to become a wellness haven by fostering human–nature connection. Cardivida thus serves as a prototype for future healthcare infrastructures that prioritize sustainability, emotional well-being, and environmental harmony alongside medical excellence.
