Abstract: THIS THESIS FOCUSES ON CREATING A PREMISES IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT BREAKS THE REGULAR TYPOLOGY OF THE CONCEPT OF A MUSEUM, BY INCORPORATING MANY FEATURES RELATED TO CULTURAL HERITAGE AND FOLKLORE OF KARNATAKA . THOUGH BANGALORE IS INVADED BY THE COSMOPOLITAN CROWD, STILL MANY BANGALOREANS –AT-HEART RESIDE HERE. THE CROWDS, INCLUDING MANY YOUTH TOO, LOOK OUT FOR WEEK-END GETAWAYS AND A PLACE TO RELAX IN! ALSO BANGALORE IS A MUCH SOUGHT-AFTER TOURIST DESTINATION. THUS THIS KARNATAKA FOLK MUSEUM PROJECT CAN CATER TO THE DEMANDS OF ALL SUCH PEOPLE, WHEREIN THEY CAN:  GET A HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE ON KARNATAKA‟S PAST GLORY THROUGH MUSEUMS; HAVE INTER-ACTIVE SESSIONS WITH ARTISANS; PARTICIPATE IN FUN-FILLED ACTIVITIES OF CEREMONIES AND RITUALS; BE A PART OF TRADITIONAL FAIRS; INDULGE IN VILLAGE-RELATED ACTIVITIES LIKE FISHING AND FARMING; RELINQUISH THEIR APPETITE FOR TRADITIONAL CUISINE AT THE IN-HOUSE RESTAURANT; AND ALSO GET TO SHOP AT THE CRAFTS BAZAAR. THE MUSEUMS WILL HOUSE ALL ANCIENT ARTS, ARTIFACTS, PAINTINGS, TRADITIONALLY-DRESSED MANNEQUINS, FOLK TOOLS, ETC.
