Autism has a triad of impairments in Communication, Socialization and Repetitive Behavior. The behavior autistic persons have left everyone puzzled. Architects are finding a way to design according to the needs of the autistic keeping in mind their disabilities. Most architects look towards designing spaces that are autistic friendly in terms of color, heights, materials, acoustics etc. This thesis project looks towards a design solution that can accommodate the autistic and provide amenities that meet sensory needs. It also helps to promote socialization among neurotypicals and the autistic. The project includes an Administrative Building, a School, an Accommodation Facility for the Children and Faculty, A Vocational Training Centre, Inclusive Playground and a Medical facility. Most education facilities in India for autistic children are set within a building made for neurotypicals. There is a need to provide the autistic an autism friendly – environment, buildings and architecture along with spaces for interaction, escape areas, therapy and that are clutter free. As an individual, they evolve into independent beings who can live normal lives in the community. As a community, we will begin to respect and accept them in our society.en_US
