dc.description.abstractThe paper deals with energy efficiency of water supply regulation in different applications: water supply, heating and cooling systems etc. Each case is characterized by a set of requirements to supply and head pressure level. Two major approaches for supply regulation are compared: throttling and pump speed regulation. It is shown that variable speed electric drive application is not always expedient and in some cases can bring no significant cost benefit.
