Abstract: A new campus for School of Planning and Architecture is proposed At Vasant Kunj. The new design seeks to go beyond the conventional campus paradigms that often tend to create insular learning environments. New opportunities and moments have to be created to interact with the campus life. The design should be such that the plan creates a flow between high intensity urban centres of education, culture, commerce and recreation in a way that will create a vibrant learning. The aim of this project is to develop an understanding of the impact of built spaces on architectural education in colleges within the context of Kerala. 1.3 OBJECTIVES 1. To identify problems faced in an architectural college in the current scenario 2. To identify the various parameters that constitute the physical learning environment. 3. To understand the impact of the identified parameters on the process of learning and students’ behaviour and performance. 4. Based on the understanding from the study, to propose an effective design of architectural institutions.
