Civic Infrastructure as Urban Catalyst-A Case of Sakthan Nagar, Thrissur, Kerala.

Abstract

The scope of the project lies in establishing an efficient and well occupied bus terminal at sakthan by redefining and redesigning the existing one at sakthan. Development and growth of the town largely depends on the efficiency of the transportation system with in the town. A functional bus system is an essential element of intra city public transport system. The reinvention of the bus stand and the surrounding market place helps the enrichment of the spaces and gives a hygienic and efficient market area for the vendors and people visiting the market.
