Abstract: history. It has seen a drastic evolution ever since the first library in 7th Century BC. From stone tablets to books, it has grown and helped the educational sector in an exponential manner. Due to technological advancements in today’s world, libraries have been digitized and information consisting of hundreds of libraries can be learnt through a device in one’s hand. This has created a depleting use of the physical libraries and is the right time to reimagine and redesign the constituents, architecture and use of a public library. With an energy depletion issue in the world, buildings that produce and consume energy required to maintain the premise or “Net zero energy buildings” are valued and in the utmost need for the society. This would create an example and bring in a knowledge of necessity for the future generations about the importance and need in the most innovative way. As a vivid reader who started the journey of finding wormholes and escaping the world or learning about them through books and stories, reading is personally an identity factor. This opportunity has provided a stage to combine creativity and curiosity to produce a memorable experience that I will always be attached to personally. My thesis aims to bring in all of these above operations under one premise with the help of different materials and technologies in architecture and would foresee a new evolution of a public library.
