Instances of acid attacks involve the deliberate act of throwing or pouring a corrosive substance, such as sulfuric, hydrochloric, or nitric acid, onto an individual's body with the intent to disfigure, maim, or even cause fatal harm. While these attacks predominantly target women and girls, men and boys can also become victims. The establishment of rehabilitation centers for survivors of acid attacks is crucial because the repercussions extend beyond physical injuries. Victims often grapple with emotional trauma, mental health challenges, and societal stigma. Additionally, financial struggles may arise due to difficulties in employment or the high costs of medical care. Rehabilitation centers play a vital role in providing comprehensive care, addressing these multifaceted issues, and aiding victims in their recovery and reintegration into society. Services encompass medical treatment, psychological counseling, skill development, and vocational training. These centers create a secure and supportive environment where survivors can receive the necessary care and connect with others who share similar experiences.en_US
