Abstract: Preserving cultural Legacy and Nurturing Artistic Heritage of traditional artforms is important to the contemporary world for preserving the cultural value, to bring the identity and sense of belonging to the culture of a region, for exchange of cultural diversity of the region, it brings in new innovations with the traditional basis for the contemporary artforms. Traditional art forms are often deeply intertwined with local economies and communities. They can be a source of livelihood for artisans and craftspeople, contributing to sustainable development and the preservation of traditional skills. Supporting traditional art forms can help sustain local economies, promote tourism, and create opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration. The study focuses on reviving the dying artforms of Karnataka in specific North Karnataka as Karnataka has rich heritage and culture which boosts the diverse and vibrant artistic tradition that has shaped by the history, religion and regional influences. However, in recent times due to urbanization and the influence of western culture several traditional artforms have faced significant challenges and are at the risk of fading away. This project aims at investigating the different dying artforms which are native North Karnataka, understanding the issues faced by them, learning the reasons for the fading of these artforms and finding architectural solutions, alternative and contemporary solutions to revive these traditional artforms. This project also aims to create a platform to these artforms and encourage many, to participate and promote these artforms. The traditional handicrafts of Karnataka has a rich history and cultural value as many motifs were dependent on historic or the mythological stories. So, promoting and reviving these artforms also narrates and signifies the important practices and beliefs which are needed and followed in the contemporary world.
