Abstract: The architectural thesis titled Param Vidya Shiksha Kendra, Gurukul focuses on designing an educational campus that integrates the essence of traditional Gurukul systems with contemporary educational requirements. The project aims to create a learning environment that nurtures holistic development, emphasizing spiritual, academic, and physical growth for underprivileged children and local community children. The design approach incorporates sustainable building practices, biophilic principles (creating space with healthy nature), and context sensitive architecture to encourage a connection between students and nature. Extensive research on key aspects like Gurukul pedagogy, spatial organization, and traditional Indian architecture informed the planning and execution of the project. The proposed campus features key highlights such as open learning spaces where students sit under a tree for chanting mantras, vedas, debating, etc., meditation zones, temple and residential facilities, embodying the values of simplicity, community living, and learning in harmony with nature. This thesis demonstrates how traditional educational values can be preserved and reimagined to meet the needs of the modern era, creating a model for future educational institutions.
