| Abstract: | The thesis research aims to establish an intervention along the India-Pakistan border, creating a neutral space for dialogue, knowledge exchange, political discourse, and craft exhibition. The primary objective is to foster mutual understanding and empathy, promote cross-border collaboration, explore peaceful resolutions to conflicts, celebrate shared heritage, and facilitate reunions for those impacted by partition. The scope involves designing a physical space embodying neutrality and inclusivity, incorporating sustainable architectural solutions, ensuring accessibility, and integrating technology for virtual interactions. However, several limitations exist, including geopolitical constraints, security risks, logistical challenges, cultural sensitivities, and financial sustainability issues. A gap analysis highlights the lack of existing infrastructure, data on perception of space, predictability of footfall, risk analysis, and border regulations. A questionnaire seeks opinions on the project, its potential impact, participation interest, community involvement, benefits, challenges, concerns, and suggestions. The methodology involves understanding border laws, safety regulations, user groups, cultural considerations, feasibility assessment, government outlook, cross-cultural integration, and security prioritization in space design. |
